A bad left bearing can fool you and sound like it's the right side, because the noise is somehow transmitted towards the middle of the car. Also sometimes the turn right-noise=left and turn left-noise=right can be misleading, i.e. reversed. i have had good luck detecting which wheel bearing is bad by jacking up each front wheel and turning the wheel by hand. The bad side will make a slight rough/rumble/growl when you turn it. If you can't tell by feel and normal listening, you can make a mechanics stethoscope out of a big screwdriver. Put the handle to your ear and the tip to the hub behind the rotor(remove wheel for access). Then you will hear any bearing noise clearly as the axle is rotated.
