with the fuel pump-to-filter hose. But I don't think hose or check valve is your problem. I'd bet that you need to change your fuel filter, not your pump.
The fuel filter is metal canister under your car (16V engines) near the rear axle. (On 8Vs, it is in engine bay.)
If you don't attend to the filter change soon, your main pump may die due to the stress of pushing fuel through a clogged filter. (As I've said before, it's like automobile cardiac arrest: the pump must work harder and harder to pump fuel through the filter, which only gets more and more clogged until changed or ZAP! -- dead pump.)
It is recommended that you change your fuel filter every 30K miles, but I've also heard EVERY YEAR, to keep finicky fuel injection system happy. (Which is coincidentally the mileage I've put on my 900 in one year!)
Hope this helps!
