yes, the torque converter can be replaced. You have to pull the motor and separate, engine and trans, pull the front cover off trans and loosen the 24mm and I think the 34mm bolts and clips, slide out shaft and remove converter. Keep the converter stable after separating, it will move back on you. oil pump and crank pulley also, can be done.
