Read the first few pages of the Wiring Diagram Section (371-?) of the Bentley manual. These pages contain information describing the slight changes in fuse locations, multi-pin connector positions, etc. depending on the age of the vehicle. You'll discover that very little changed from '86 - 94conv. The changes in wiring were more evolutionary than revolutionary. For instance, the addition of headlight wipers on US spec cars only required tapping into the existing washer fluid pump circuit - fuse size remained the same, fuse location the same, wire size the same.
'85 900 is a different because of the physical location of different components when compared to later years, but for the most part the logic behind the wiring went unchanged. Hope this helps.
