if u have to increase your rpm to forced coolant thru your heater core its semi blocked.. u should not have to do this..
as for saab deliberately by-passing the heater when the car is in traffic or hot that one dosnt make any sense at all.. two cooling devices are better than one.. plus it gets mighty cold where these cars are made.. this one has to be pure saab mythology..
okay its true that when ticking over less fluid gets pumped thru that heater matrix than when cruising.. the fact the car gets hotter when the car is ticking over is not the reason the heater dosnt work.. its because the flow is less.. an airlock in the main system or a blockage of the heater pipes.. valve.. or matrix is the cause.. it should not happen.. if in doubt do as trev dose and give it some revs.. in this case being as its been apart the airlock is the most likely..
