Hi all
I have an 85 900T with about 5,000 mi. on rebuilt tranny. Not long ago it suddenly started making a loud clatter like noise when the clutch is released in 4th gear. Only in 4th gear! No other anomalies. I checked the oil for debri. None present. I pulled the tranny side panels: again, nothing to be seen out of the ordinary. I have stopped using 4th. I hate with winter coming on to tear into that gearbox, but does anyone have any clue as to what this may be?
Thanks for any ideas.
