There is a round plastic shield that slides on the rotor shaft *before* you put on the rotor. Well I forgot to put that on and now I'm wondering if this is why the car will not boost much at all. I was reading that the distributor has some kind of vacuum diaphram that retards timing under high boost. I wonder if this might be part of the problem? What does that little shield do? I was hoping it was just some kind of dust shield. I'd have to order another rotor from sobstory if getting this one off means crushing it.
