She goes in tommorow for paint and some minor body work (small bumper pull, door dings, etc..). I just pulled off a bunch of stuff to bring down some labor costs. Call me a SAAB fanatic (my wife does), but I'm nervous about sending the babe away.
I've been saving since I bought it- FL sun it brutal on paint! I knew the $$ would go toward a tran. or paint- paint came first. I figured- 'what the hell- it's paid for anyway.' Cheaper by far than a new ride! Unless of course the tran. dies in the next 3K! My SAAB LUCK!.
I searched and did all of the home work on this. For ME- the best deal was the GM paint center (tied to the local SAAB dealer). I looked at some repair work/paint they did on the lot- excellent, truly seemless. I even ran into one of their guys in a bar months back- he told me they just don't corners- not with the warrenty. I move a lot too- for the extra $500-700 I'm paying (compared to some local and recommend places), I'm buying a warrenty that can travel with me. I've also weighed the options of a "what if I don't like this" senario. Easier to deal with SAAB/GM than with "Joe, I have no insurance- body/paint center." I have a friend who would come in MUCH cheaper, but he's a friend and I would not want to complain and jeapordize that.
I guess the time for second guessing is over- Monday AM is drop off and I pick up some midsize "can't get out of my own way" rental!
BTW- this BB is great! I know why- I was doing some searches last night and ran into posts from SPGuy; for a dude I never meet the emotions were real! It's more than the car.
SAAB On!
