Jochen,
Just another thing to think about on your heating problems...
If you've taken the cooling system's thermostat out, for some reason, that's why you have no heat, especially if your car NEVER warms up fully.
Also, are you certain your 900 DOES have a thermostat? If you've bought the car recently, there is the chance that a poorly informed previous owner may have taken out the thermostat.
One more thing: if the cooling system hasn't been serviced in a while (2-3 years), you might want to have the thermostat changed & a coolant drain, flush, and refill done, too. Thermostats ARE moving parts, cycling open/closed many times while engine is running. They DO wear out, either sticking open (no heat), closed (leading to overheating), or possibly part-way open.
If your thermostat is stuck open, then that could be a cause of your 900's slow-to-warm-up symptoms. However, if that's the case, a new thermostat should solve your problem.
Hope this helps!
