brake fade is when your brakes fail due to being over used.. things get too hot and it dosnt normally happen at a light.. he he..
plus the symptoms (just so as folks dont get confused) of a failed booster are exactly the opposite to those described.. the pedal goes very hard and dosnt go down as far as it normally does.. plus u dont stop very well.. he he
one thing to always check is if there is fluid in the reservoir.. if there is and the pedal goes to the flaw (assuming a pipe hasnt busted) the failure will likely be the master cylinder.. slaves just tend to leak fluid but still work okay until the fluid lever in the reservoir gets to the bottom.. when this happens the master cylinder sucks in air on its return stroke and the pedal goes spongy eventually making the floor withour doing anything usefull..
this basically applies to hydrualic brakes or clutches.. clutch slave do pretty much the same thing as wheel cylinders or pistons.. however cars having dual ciruit braking system.. pedals going to the floor should never happen.. "usual symptoms"... ????
just some general info.. its not saab specific.. but could be usefull..
