so it leaks out over one day when the car is stood "sometimes".. but a 15 psi test shows up nothing.. oh and its at the front of the car.. ???
is there a big puddle under the car.. i am thinking slight head gasket leak pressurizing cooling system under high loads plus small intermittent leak around the rad when cold.. after your car has been stood awhile and cooled down.. say several hours.. check to see if the system is still pressurized.. if it is thats a sign of the head gasket leak.. normally when things cool down any pressure in the system should dissapear.. with a head gasket leak it very often dosnt.. assuming an otherwise leak proof general system..
combine this with an intermittent rad leak and "sometimes" u could lose a lot of water when stood..
but a one litre loss should not cause instant over heating.. the system holds nearly 10 i think.. certainly not in the red after one minute of driving.. in fact i recon with just one litre missing things would still circulate normally..
one other thing u can try is leave the car running hood up under observation for half an hour or so to let it get well warm then poke and prod a few things.. tug the hoses and stuff..
