I just did mine>>> Posted by Nathan Pflaum [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Plastic Heater bypass valve, Brian, Mon, 2 Dec 2002 15:20:12 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
It was not too bad, but it was a little tricky. JohnB and Mike G are correct, if you look under the hood at the firewall you will see it, it is kind of next to the A/C compressor, just look for the two black rad hoses. You will have to take off the speaker grill on the driver's side. There are four screws holding it to the heater core. You can get to these screws through the speaker grill and by feeding your arm up from under the dash around the clutch pedal. I used a tiny allen wrench, I think it was 7mm but I am not sure on that. You will also need to pick up two new O rings for it. When you put the O rings on use a little silicon to hold them to the heater valve this way they do not come off when you are trying to put it on. I put the heater valve in through the speaker grill and that took a little time. When taking out the old one you will have to dissconnect it from the heater control switch, so be careful with tha, they are kind of fragile.
Hope this helps
