That's the compressor Taylor.
The two allens need to be removed, then the compressor is free. By now you should have invested in allen sockets - they make it a snap :). To remove the a/c bracket, you have to loosen the 12mm bolt at it's bottom (behind the alternator) and slide it up. Then tighten the bolt back down - making sure the alt. ground strap gets tightened under it.
I don't know anything about removing the aic along with a/c. Leave it alone.
I also removed the evaporator under the fresh air intake compartment. Saab makes a filter and cover to fit into the void. It's nice. Be aware that by removing the a/c components, for some reason the fresh air flap may no longer work.
I would assume that by now both your cooling fans have been rewired to come on together. Mine do. It's a simple mod explained on the townsend site.
Maybe you should wire your defunct a/c cabin switch for your water injection or some other toy :)
What's next on the engine mods? Good luck. While a hot car is kinda unbearable on some summer days, the ease of getting at the alt., pulleys etc. on an a/c removed engine is real nice.
