That's all there is to unlocking door from inside car. Just unlock a passenger door and reach across. If you can't get the lock cylinder to work, take off door panel by unscrewing door lock plunger post, undoing Torx screw in door handle and removing handle, then unscrew the 2-3 Torx screws (Phillips head in older 900s) and lift door panel UP and away from door.
Door lock cylinder is attached to the door lock plunger with a pop-on connecting rod and small sleeve. Door lock is held on the door by a small clip, shaped like a square with one open end.
When you get door lock cylinder out, you can read key code stamped on the lock cylinder and take it to a SAAB dealer or auto locksmith and get it repaired or get a new cylinder keyed to THAT CODE so your key will still unlock it. Otherwise, you'll end up with a different code and will need to use two keys!
I'm betting the repair cost will be less you can take your lock cylinder to a locksmith. If the locksmith must dismantle your SAAB door himself, then he will probably charge more because of the extra labor involved.
I once swapped out a door lock cylinder in my Mom's 900 in about 30 minutes, having never done so before.
Hope this helps!
