Replacing voltage regulator procedure

Alright, you guys helped me out and figured out it was the voltage regulator causing the electrical problems. I have the new one, the old one is out.
I figured I'd try putting in the old one before the new one so I don't mess up the new one. I'm having some trouble getting it in and wondering how to do it. The guy @ autozone said to be very careful because it's really fragile and just to put it in on an angle.
Well the Saab has fairly easy access to it except for the oil filter. Just need to know how to put it in correctly and safely. Thanks!
