How 2 Dry Up Coolant? Unusual

I knew I had head gasket trouble when the heater control valve blew apart because of the high water pressure caused by the blown head gasket. When the heater value blew, it dumped nice fresh coolant all over my shoes and of course the carpet - front and rear on driver's side, soaked. That was nearly 3 weeks ago, and the carpet is still damp. I've tried using towels to mop it up, but it doesn't get it all and the carpet remains damp. So, can anyone tell me how to dry-up the coolant from my carpet?
