vacuum pipes just push on.. u must be useing oversize hose or something.. a vacuum unlike pressure should make pipes grip tighter the proper fitting pipe should not need clamps.. if the pipes are long enough nipping a bit of the end to get rid of the stretched bit is a good idea.. i always do this with old rubber push on pipes.. assuming the pipe can spare it of course..

my car isnt a turbo by the way.. turbo cars might need clamps cos at times the intake system could be under a positive pressure.. to me the only reason for clamps not working properly is the use of too rigid and oversize pipe.. we aint talking about much pressure the pipes in question should not need that much holding on..
