I recently bought an '88 900S with 99k miles in need of a waterpump and a few other small things for $1200. This was a exceptionally good deal but I passed more than a few cars up while looking. I made a personal rule to avoid paying as much or more than the Blue Book quoted - I found Edmunds.com to be a better price reference - especially with regard to person to person sales. I think their statistics are a little more reliable than a bunch of dealers getting together, drinking more than a few beers and picking numbers off the beer bottle UPC codes (this is one of the many possible methodologies that would seem to explain the unreliable Kelly and Nada pricing data) To get a better idea of what the car is worth you may want to peruse the Saabnet classifieds specific to the model you're looking for.

At 114K the ball joints, shocks, tierod ends, clutch, transmission (has the oil ever been changed?), valve cover gasket, and exhaust are suspect - not to mention that the seat heaters may not work.
