Although ... you can take it off with one person Posted by RS [Email] (#15) [Profile/Gallery] (more from RS) on Tue, 31 Dec 2002 11:18:32 In Reply to: Re: What's the trick in removing the hood (c900)? n/m, SDP, Tue, 31 Dec 2002 09:01:00 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
if you balance it well and don't have anything on your pants that will scratch the front of the hood.
After you remove the bolts that SDP mentions, bend over slightly and grab the hood on both sides 1/3 to 1/2 way back. Lift up on the front a bit to disengage the hood and straighten up. Pivot on one foot and you can place the tip of the hood on a soft spot that you thought about before you started the procedure.
Another way to remove it with one person is to flip it to the fully open position after you have undone the bolts. Grab it by the front center and rear center and disengage it.
That's one of the nice things about it being a smallish car.
Putting it back on with one person is more tricky ... my suggestion is to use two.
