Just Make Sure You have the Right Tools Or you'll loose time out by running back in forth getting them! Heres a quick list of what I bought,
1-1/16 socket for Timing Tensioner; 19 mm for camshaft; 14mm for cam gear and misc. ; 13mm for belt tensioners mounts; E-16 External Torx ** Must Have for Head Bolts!! You can order this item only by going to the counter and ordering, or buy the complete set off the shelf. 6mm allen for A/C compressor bolts, 12mm for misc. Thats about all I used, and a flat blade and hard plastic putty knife to remove old gaskets.
For the materials I purchased new belts and all heater hoses, (good luck finding these in town!! I only found the upper and lower radiator hoses, all others had to get universal hoses) Saab Coolant, and head gasket , new head bolts, and intake gasket.
Ball park price for parts and tools, $95 for parts, and tools I had already had except for 1/1/16th socket, $4.99 E-16 External Torx, $3.99
It took me around 7-8 hrs then plus the time running to the parts store to get parts and hunting down parts! You'd probably look at $600-up for a Saab Mechanic to do the job.
Good Luck!
