I feel your pain. I had a similar problem. You need to replace the length from the filter to the pump. The line is very stiff. I got one from a junk yard. It would be very hard to pull it through without dropping the tank. It's not fun, but you can do it. You may consider getting a similar high pressure fuel line and attaching it to the end fittings with regular hose clamps.
