It's cold, it's damp, there's snow on the ground and a bunch of condensation in your exhaust. Sounds fairly normal for any car.

A blown head gasket produces a steady stream of white smoke out the tailpipe as you already know. However, there would be a corresponding drop in your coolant level every day, your car would run hot, and you might see bubbling in your coolant tank as well.

Lately, it seems a lot of people have been worried about whether or not their head gasket is blowing. Best not to worry about it until it happens if it happens at all. Mostly it's climatic conditions causing a little steam out the pipe. Also, one byproduct of combustion is water so it's always around.

Only about one percent of all SAABs blow a head gasket, mostly because of previous owner neglect. We just hear about most of them here. Most people go prodigious mileages without experiencing the problem.

Take your SAAB out on the freeway for a little "cleansing." Get the exhaust system good and hot. That will help for a while.
