My urethane bushings were the earlier type that had a thin section metal cylinder center. It distorted and allowed too much movement. Went back to the cheap rubber and all is fine and stable. Newer urethane from Sobstory in particular are more robust and don't have the vibe/wobble problem.
FWIW, when tightened down, the bushings are squashed in really well (similar to a-arm bushings) and are quite stable. I thing a bronze bushing would transmit too much belt or HB vibration to the engine and car.
Without A/C to crowd the engine compartment this is a simple job.
