1989 saab 900 five speed. after changing my oil and starting up the car and with the car running, i noticed a clicking sound coming from the console between the front seats by the ignition key. it is intermittent and does not involve as far as i know any lights activating or anything else. after taking the console out, all wires look pretty reasonable. i vacuumed all the crap out and vacuumed as best i could where the key goes in. the noise would happen when the car is running only, ie when the key is in run position. the only close sound i could reproduce was when the key was in, in off position, and turned the key counterclockwise which produced a clicking similiar in nature.
everything else is fine. the only thing i can think of that might have caused this is initially putting in a different 900 key from another car i have by accident and trying to turn on the car.
is the cylinder now bad or is a spring or something now loose? just wondering if any one has had this odd thing happen before. thanks in advance for any input.
