Last spring I did a similar test using two temperature sensors to compare the temperature difference at the two locations. The intake arrangement was stock. I compared temperatures for about a month.
I began with both in the same place to verify that they read the same temperature. Outdoor temperatures ranged from the 40's to the 80's and seemed to have little effect on the temperature difference between the two locations. I found that at a steady 55 mph, the difference is about 4 degrees Fahrenheit. Acceleration in the yellow range for a few seconds, or a good hill will increase the difference to 6-8 degrees, and it takes a while for it to return to 4 degrees. Stopping at a couple traffic lights will bring the difference to 10 degrees. A few more will bring the difference to 20 degrees. The largest difference I recorded was 25 degrees, in completely stalled traffic. The radiator fans were comming on about when the temperature behind the intercooler hit 125 and prevented the difference from getting larger.
As others have stated, one needs to know what the pressure difference at the turbocharger inlet is for both intake systems to really assess the difference.
