I have just purchased a 87 900T with a sticking parking brake mechanism on the left front brake, maybe you have the same issue. From the limited bit I've been able to find out, it seems like the return spring mechanism, which pulls the brake back off when releasing the hand brake, needs to be cleaned or replaced with new. Hope that helps.
