just a relative term this and only compares to other cars i have driven.. and i say it cos i have to keep lifting off to avoid stopping short during everyday type brakeing.. pads usually do match disks/rotors.. but the inside dosnt do as much as the outside.. a few years back i had a disk/rotor shatter on me.. a low speed crash stop was when it went.. little kid on a bike turned across the front of me.. he fooled me cos the little bugger had quite clearly looked over his shoulder and seen me.. having gone thru all the right motions thow he just turned across the front of me.. these are the dangerous ones.. the ones that do the last things u expect em to... he he he.. all the "anticipation" in the world dont help with these type dudes.. in fact the opposite applies they suck u into the trap.. he he
anyway to come to the point looking at a cross section of my busted disk i was surprized to see how it had worn.. the outside looked pretty normal but the inside was very thin indeed.. u dont normally get to see disks like this and until it had busted i had no idea just how thin the bugger had got on the inside of the radius..
perhaps there is a logic to having long thin pads that work more on the outside of larger disks than the older more square design.. ???
wearing disks down to about 1/8 of an inch thick on the inner portion of the overall diameter might not seem possible but i managed it.. he he
