Thanks for the info. True, it seems, that the gears most effected are second and reverse. First will engage with some encouragement and more RPMs but it takes a bit of patience for reverse and it will not make it into second. I had to move the car up into my (steep) driveway to get it off the road for snow removal. Needless to say it hated that (as did I) now reverse is even more distant than before. I do have the saab shop manual (which I lent to someone- a big no no. My only experience with AT is taking them out. They seem very vulnerable. I left a post last week and no one replied . . . I see more people replace them then make adjustments?
I'm tempted to take it to a tranny shop just for a diagnosis? or ask Dr. Demi? Thanks for the input Walt!
Domestic car stuff is more foreign a language to me then AT . . . (with much respect) we (US) do make some pretty good AT
