i aint talking drag racing here just normal city driving.. and this comment comes from a life-long stick shifter who does know how to use one.. he he he..
i find that in my auto trannie none turbo 8 valve 118 bhp 900 i am always first off from the lights quite noticably compared to the average UK stick shifter who has to dip the clutch and bung his car into first gear before he even thinks about moveing.. and not having to change thru the gears quite like a manual car does helps me get to the next bloody set in front of the others.. just having to lift yer foot off the brake and plonk it on the accelerator (u dont even have to be gentle) saves at least two seconds... he he he..
i think a turbo auto due to its lower compression ratio in normal none flat out type driving would be noticably slower in its initial pick up than the none turbo version also.. turbos are good for fast (after the lag that is) highway overtaking but for normal none flat out type driving they could well be a disadvantage.. definitely in a city car..
dont forget that its only when that extra 30 brake or so is being used that the turbo is any good.. for the rest of the time its just a useless encumbrance and probably slows the car down.. he he
jeesh.. what sacrilege have i just committed..
