Major P/S leaker is the fat low pressure hose that feeds the bottom of the pump from the resevoir. First check for a leak pouring down the fender beneath the resevoir. Could be just a loose hose or cracked nipple on resevoir. Repair is obvious, but be careful with the resevoir when you pull it out after unbolting.

Check the metal pressure lines down near the passenger side motor mount If snapped, replace. Then check the rubber bellows on the inner tierod. If leak here, just get a new rack. Sobstory (800-583-0370) has rebuilts that are better than new for well under $200.

If still OK so far, get the car up on jackstands and crawl under to get a look at the large hose that goes to the pump. While the hose itself is pretty solid, it gets hard as a rock at the fitting and can leak there. I would replace this hose, but you can try to seal the leak by doubling up on hose clamps at the pump. Expect to strip cheap hose clamps when trying to compress a hard hose.

Then firmly grab the pump pulley to see if the pump is loose. It is held to the bracket by 3 bolts that can back out. While it is technically possible to bolt the pump back on by reaching these bolts through the pulley holes, it is much easier to remove the pump by supporting the engine and removing the interfering motor mount bracket.

If you need to drive the car, just cut the P/S pump belt so you don't run the pump when dry.
