Someone (or perhaps yourself) installed a radio, or was playing inside the dash and knocked one of those vac. lines off the xyz gonculator in there. I caused it to happen on my '88 900 as well. Worse yet, it made the engine hunt for an idle. My suggestion: remove the radio and grope around in there for a loose vac. tube. It was fairly easy to find on my car, and then I found an open port on the xyz gonculator (Ihave no idea what it's really called - prob. a servo ?) Good luck !
