this is now humorous to me, but at the time, it pissed the hell
out of me. the first night i got my 900, i was so excited, so i kept
driving around with friends giving them rides in it. at one point,
it didnt even turn over when i'd try to start, but then it did within a
few minutes. anyways, as i was going on the small "bypass"
kind of highway we have in my town area, something loud
sounded, and my friend assured me that it was "just a rock",
yet i felt very suspicious that it might have been a snapped belt.
so later that night, i was driving on the same road and all of a
sudden i heard this loud snapping sound and all of a sudden
there was this metallic rattling sound. i felt this huge wave of
scaredness go through me, and i took it back to town, while
very upset. it was dark and i had no clue what to look for, but
no apparent damage was visible to my eye. my dad is a car
guy so i called him and told him id take it home soon, but after
i bought a cd at the store in town. so he calls me about 15 min.
later and tells me to check the pulleys, and i felt really relieved when
that was the case; all the belts were gone...
one must of snapped and then got caught in the others, causing the
loud snapping noise i heard later.
anyways, what it was was a frozen water pump.
of course the first night i get my "new" car, and it wasn't road-worthy,
until the next week after i got it fixed.
it hasnt had any problems ever since except for the dead battery
i came across this morning :[
sorry for the long post...
