Russel, the switches are even free at some pick-a-part places, like here in Saskatoon. I have 2 extra sets, and I might be able to send you a switch or two if you give me 2 months to get back to NYC where I have my hoard. Just pay shipping as I am not in this for money. I know you are a parts supplier/mechanic of some sort, so I guess your switch is buggered, but I gotta admit I have never seen one I couldn't fix. Where-as I don't agree with your turbo theory, I guess your switchs are shot. Wow! How many times did you pull apart and put together? Did you get it right, as the switches are side and front-back specific? Did you file all the contacts? Did you slightly bend the curved parts to give 'em more springiness and ensure tighter contact?
Might I suggest a temporary fix in the mean time. Exchange the broken switch for the passenger side rear switch that is rarely used. At least this will let you use the window that you need. Until you need to put the top down, the rear windows are not necessary on a convertible.
