For clarity, I would suggest replacing the junky, paper cone front speakers with some new 2-way 4" speakers $50-$100 for a pretty good set. The rear speakers are 4X10's and they pretty much suck. It's hard to get a speaker that long and skinny to sound good. For a couple of years I simply had 6X9's mounted in boxes that I bolted to my rear shelf driven by an amp. This was loud as hell because they were pointed right at me. The other good thing was that I could open my hatch and turn the rear shelf around so that the speakers were facing out. This is great for field parties. The bad part is that they are bulky when set up like that. I went and got some 6X9 to 4X10 adapters from Best Buy for like 15 bucks or something and with some effort and a few good plastic zip-ties I got them to mount securly in the stock holes. Now they are not as loud as before but they are out of the way and the car is much easier to load up with out the 6X9 boxes. A 12" sub in a small sealed box is just about right in my opinion. I mounted the sub amp to the sub box and the rear speaker amp upsidedown in the spot that the factory tool kit goes. I cut a short, heavy duty, 3-prong extension cord in half and wired it in as a quick disconnect for my sub amp so that I can take it out easily when I need to carry a hide-a-bed couch or fridge or washing machine or........ Anyway I'm just ramblin' now. Good luck! enjoy your SPG -Chris
