the price sounds okay if the car is basically good.. i wouldnt be too easily put off.. being as cats aint cheap the guy could be genuine.. if u live in a state with no emission tests.. removing the cat and having a pipe welded in could be a cheap repair option..
its the 75k that makes this car worth looking at.. in saab terms its a baby.. check for rust and general body/interior conditon.. low mileage cars can rust more.. and mechanical things can be fixed..
any car that has obvious running faults will always be offered cheap.. to me if the car is basically a good one.. go for it.. perhaps offer a little less just to see..
my saab cost me £100.. he he he.. nothing happened when the key was turned.. no one would risk it.. the fix cost me nothing and was the inhibitor switch on the auto box.. the little plastic thing that connects the stick to the switch had busted.. some super-glue stuck it back together.. some ham-fisted mechanic had busted it when he replaced the ignition lock barrel..
that the story of how i become a saab owner.. he he..
