it started off clean mind u.. and i did settle for a simple mat black overall finish.. no silver/gray bits..
a quick mask-off of the surrounding areas.. a quick squirt with a mat-black aerosol can and the job was done.. after a couple of days i took a thinners soaked rag and carefully wiped the new black of the little silver saab lettering on the badge to make things look better..
if it dont last forever i dont really care cos i can soon find another twenty minutes to do it again quite easily..
mine dosnt quite look original (it was grey and black not fake chrome) but it looks smart and does match the no/chrome black window mouldings and door handles on my car.. i think all black it looks better than the original half and half saab finish..
if the fake chrome looks a little too shiny to key paint to give it a rub with some medium/smooth wet and dry paper.. mine didnt need it.. it was just "worn off" grey looking paint not the fake chrome stuff.. when spraying the new paint on.. it looks better with a slight dry/spray effect.. ie.. several light coats with the sprayer some distance away.. pausing a few seconds between coats..
