never ending saga, crank case vent hose.....

So I got the new water pump back together. New oil pump o-ring, new crank seal. Back to rubber alt. bushings (poly suck). Water lines to turbo, etc. I'm about to put the intake tract back on when the crank case/valve cover vent hose (big one) breaks off below the intake near the water line split. I try to splice in a new hose but the splice just splits the old hose. I've looked at saabsite and eeuroparts and did not see this hose listed. Kinda worried!
I plan on deleting the trottle body defrost hose (live in Tucson) anyway. So how would one 'delete' this hose from the car. One end goes to the crank case/valve cover as well as a water line to the heater box. The other end goes into the intake between the AMM/turbo as well as on water line to the trottle body.
I can plug all the water lines to the hose. I can plug the intake AMM/turbo business.
QUESTION: What do I do to the large orfice on the valve cover? The little hose/orfice goes to the throttle body, which is still good I guess?
TIA,
Ed S
