Right, the ECU is the LH controller. It's located on the kickpanel on the passenger side.
Looking back at your earlier posts, I think that you have a Turbo (please correct me if I'm wrong). If so, you don't have a crank sensor. It will have a connector on the side of the distributor for the Hall Effect sensor.
The ones on '89 and later aren't as delicate as earlier years, but take a look at that connector. Jiggle it to see if it's loose and, if it is, try to hold it while a helper cranks the car.
Usually other failures will give some warning that something is wrong.
