in my humble opinion the aftermarket dash kits are...CRAP. they don't come close to what a OEM would look like. my advise is to get an old dash fascia and remove the pleather inset. using a dremel i would feather the edges of the new wood fascia ( actually a thin piece of balsa wood covered with clear layer) so as to fit into the inset of the fascia. this will give you a custom look. if youre handy it will come out nice. if your not..then just stick the new fascia over the old one like the manufacturer reccomends. with the glove box, same thing. but with the the kit i bought
the glove box section just fit right in. didnt need to trim edges.
you'll see what i'm talking about when you go to task.
i think i could have done a better job with my wood kit but it turned out o.k.. i definitly wouldnt have liked the look of sticking something over the existing pleather.
i've thought about making my own from a template made from the pleather inset, a veeneer of stained wood and liqued plexiglass stuff. who has the time anymore?
good luck
