perhaps there is and i aint got nothing else to do..
some say that sqeal is caused by dust.. slotted pads are supposed to help in this respect.. u can saw slots in em..
also years ago i saw some special replacement pads that had a thin coating of abrasive material on em.. the idea was that when first fitted the abrasive cleaned up the rotors before then wearing off.. i have in the past glued (impact adhesive) very coarse wet and dry paper onto pads to clean up rotors.. after a few gentle brake applications it wears off having in theory done its job.. he he
there are anti-sqeal shims fitted to some brakes between pad and piston.. quite how these are supposed to work i have never fathomed out to be honest.. there is even anti-sqeal grease.. this goes between pads and shims etc..
now with pushbike brake sqeal.. its all about toe-in of the brake blocks.. toe-out makes em sqeal.. toe-in stops it..
basically why some brakes sqeal and some dont is still a mystery to me.. he he
