If plugs are still getting fouled and you don't have the spotless one i referred to, then maybe the clouds of smoke are not from a bad headgasket after all. The smell of gas is a clue for a bad FPR or perhaps the vacuum line to it is disconnected. Put a vacuum/pressure on the vacuum line that goes to the FPR. You can just suck/blow on it but be careful about getting gas in your mouth, so a mity-vac is better.
If fuel leaks out of the hose and/or it won't hold a vacuum, i think you've found the problem. High vacuum at idle should tell the FPR to direct fuel back to the gas tank rather than to the injectors. If this isn't happening, you will flood/run rich/smoke. Your dealer should have checked this, especially with the fouled plug symptom.
The only other thing i can think of is a badly sticking injector(s). I have only had one Saab injector stick and cleaned it up with a bottle of techron. Good luck.
