True, no kick panels are available & they bust be specially made for your car. I use them in my SPG's & if they are properly designed you do not loose your dead pedal space however it is smaller but not gone!! I use this setup in both of my 88 SPG's (pic is of my now departed 87 SPG, relocated kicks into my 88) & this is by far the best setup! I have a size 11 foot do drivers schools, I have plenty of room to rest my foot there. Yes there is less room but there is still plenty :o)

I use the infinity perfect 6.1 (6.5 component set, pictured) as well as the OZ audio CX 180 (also 6.5's) in each of my cars. You can use a 5.25 set which will give you a little more foot room but you will loose a little midbass as a tradeoff :o)

I have used high end 4 in component sets as well in the OEM location & there is no contest!!!!! It sounds like crap when it's in the dash. For you not to experience good imaging with your kick design definantly means it was not setup properly. I sat in someone's C900 at SOC02 whi had kick buioldouts in his car which included 5.25, 4 & tweeter & the SQ was poor.

It MUST be designed properly or it will only add more midbass & have not-so-good imaging.

If you like the bright sound of the MB's consider the perfect line from infinity as well. They are also expensive but VERY accurate! My OZ set is also in that price range & are much softer/smoother sounding more like the momo line from polk audio. I also use Adcom amps & A Eclipse CD-8061 deck
