Hey guys, I was just driving my 900 down to school a few days ago. I hadn't driven it on the interstate or long distances in a few months. Well, 5th gear doesn't work so I've been driving it in 4th. I went 30 miles down I-95 at about 75mph, it was revving very high obviously.

About 5 miles from my exit, the engine felt started to feel sluggish, then started to give a missing spark sensation. It got worse, but not so I couldn't make it to my destination.

The thing is, I know what a miss feels like, and it didn't feel *exactly* like that. And I know what a lack of fuel feels like, and it did feel like that moreso but the fuel system has all been repaired, etc recently. What I'm afraid is that the head gasket might start to be going. It has never been replaced, and has 100k miles on it. The previous owner (of this engine, its a transplant) drove the crap out of it. The drivers shake a lot when accelerating, etc.

So, I guess I just wanted to vent some. I finally got the thing painted, and the new rack in (ugh) and now this. Sometimes I get the feeling I'm driving an 18 year old car. oh yeah, I am.

I'm going to check the compression later this evening, hopefully that will lend some clues. I wonder if draining the oil will tell me anything either?
