About a month ago I changed the CV boot on my '88 S. I didn't get everything back together until well iunto the darkness and ended up cleaning in the cold dark backyard. After getting everything picked up and tools stowed in the trunk of the car (I find they're handiest there) I got in, started it up, and backed into the garage, and then WHUMP! I hadn't closed the hatch all the way and put a couple of scratches in the paint of the hatch. I found then and continue now to find that the hatch is difficult to open and close - there's roughness in the action of the lock release, and sometimes I find it necessary to push down on the rubber tail to get the mechanism to release.
obviously there's something wrong. My best idea at present is to take the car to Andrew's of Princeton. This will of course cost money - is it easy to adjust the lock myself?
still kicking myself,
NT
