Hey Alan,
I just did these belts yesterday, so its pretty fresh in my mind, hopefully i can be of some assistance.
You are correct that you need to remove the other belts to get to the alternator belt(s). I can't recall if you have to take the power steering belt off (that one might be inside) but you certainly have to take the AC belt off.
The AC belt is tensioned with what is known as the "AC idler pulley." Its that small extra pulley that doesnt seem to be attached to anything much.
here is a picture:

To get this fellow loose, you are going to have to loosen 2 or 3 different bolts. The bolt that the assembly pivots on, and the bolt that holds the slider in place. You will also have to loosen the the nut that acts as the actual tensioner. To speak a little more about this, you will see a bolt with a nut on it that acts as a "screw" in the sense that it screws in or out to add tension to the assembly. The thing its attached to looks a bit like a tiny shovel (its mounted under the other bolt you loosened).
After you loosen everything, just push the idler pulley in (you should be standing on the passenger side, push towards drivers side) and it should go slack. loosen the tensioner more as necessary.
the tensioner for the Alternator belts is on the alternator control arm (a bit swooping thing that has a slot all the way up it).
for this one you need to loosen the top alternator mounting bolt (16mm) and then loosten the tensioner.
when you tighten these back down, first apply tension using the tensioner bolts, then lock the other slidey type ones (And pivoting ones if there are these for the particular belt).
THere is a tensioner/sliding setup for the PS belt also. Its pretty far down on the passenger side.
you will need 13 mm rachet/box wrenches for the stuff on passenger side. a 16 mm and a 10 mm for the alternator.
Good luck, feel free to email me for more help,
Dave
