NEW SPG IN THE STABLE!!! (Brake Light Help!)

I just picked up an '88 SPG tonight!! She needs some significant work, but nothing I don't think I can handle. After having my '85 modified 900T totaled justice is finally served.
The first item to be resolved... a brake light issue:
Brake lights (excluding third brake light) and reverse lights are constantly on, in any headlight position and regardless of brake pedal position. Turn signals however are operational, as well as hazards.
On my previous car I fixed a bad taillight ground where both tailliights were grounded through the right taillight. This problem seems different than that though, as you don't get the light indications on the dash that I did with my previous car. Is this just a bad ground? Or electrical bug? Please send your suggestions! I need to get this car past inspections! Thanks in advance for the help! (By the way, I'm ecstatic with the new SPG, photos don't do these cars justice).
