Okay I got the gear housing out of the car. But let me fill you in on what Happened to make me do this. I was backing out of the driveway and once I got to the street, the car died. I think on saabs or at least mine, you cant just turn the key again to start, you have to turn off and then start up agian. Well I did that and when I was turning the key , the car radio and accessories stayed on when the car was suppose to be off. Then I try turning the key to the start position and nothing. The spring feeling when trying to start at the key was gone. The Switch had a neutral feeling, and no tension. So I jumped to the conclusion that the Electical switch part was stuck in the Accesoriey position and with no spring feeling that the Electircal switch was to blame and ordered that. But know that I have the new elec. switch in hand, the Keyed switch is probably to blame. Or is it the Lock out mechanisms ? See I havent got the Keyed switch out of the housing to see whats the problem below the keyed switch. Im waiting for my dad to come over and take me to get some drill bits to drill the release out of the Keyed switch.
Any suggestions? Is it the keyed switch or is there more behind that, which isnt making the car electiral switch work?
