I was replacing a starter on an 87 900 nonturbo yesterday and couldnt get the starter to spin once installed. It turned out to be a bad connection in the plug that attaches to the passanger side of the tranny housing. I replaced the plug and the problem is solved but I would like to know its function. Thanks for the help.
