I just took a look at my 1990 SPG, which is the same car you have and I found two electrical connections. One is the temp sensor that moniters the valve being open or closed and the moduating valve on the driverside inter fender well which controls the opening of the egr valve. Bentley has a good description on page 254-3. I guess with a newer ECM, it would not even be looking for those signals, so just as long as the vacuum lines are pluged, it wouldn't hurt anything. Are you still runnning the 90 ECM and have you had any problems with your check engine light? The one connector is on the fuel rail wire harness and the other plugged into the modulating valve. Did you remove the EGR valve or just plug the line?
Thanks,
Kevin O
