87 SPG, Stereo > lower DIN slot; wiring help needed

Greetings.
This car came with a tuner/tape deck in the upper slot and an EQ in the lower slot. I'm freeing up the upper slot for more gauges and I need help figuring out the hookup for a single unit installation in the lower slot, without the EQ. I have a question about the wiring.
I have pulled the OEM EQ from the lower DIN slot and the OEM tuner from the upper slot. I'd like to hook the tuner up (temporarily) in the lower slot, pending eventual upgrade. ("Eventual" because go-fast bits always seem to have priority.)
The OEM Clarion is a removable design with a quick-connect adapter at the back of the DIN box. Two round multi-wire bundled cables run from this unit down to the EQ. At the back of the EQ is a "standard" connector that matches the wiring harness connector. But without some adaptation, there is no way to plug the wiring harness directly into the rear of the stereo.
So: what's the easiest way to connect the OEM tuner to the OEM wiring harness, without using the EQ?
If anyone has a proven solution to this little question, I'd be most grateful. Thanks.
